Sparring, or “live contact training” is NOT a requirement of our Muay Thai program. Muay Thai Sparring is completely optional and varies depending on your goals. Sparring is for people who want to utilize the skills they have acquired more realistically. Full sparring gear is required to participate in live Muay Thai training, which includes gloves, shin guards, head gear, mouth guard, and cup. Students must be training in our Muay Thai classes consistently for a few months, prior to partaking in this activity if they choose.

Our Goal For Our Students
Our goal for our students is to over time produce conscious knowledge of good form and striking techniques. We aim to build a strong foundation in all of our students. We focus on the importance of good footwork, skill retention, partner pad holding skills, and aiming to master a variety of striking techniques.
Benefits of Training Muay Thai
Training Muay Thai has a great variety of benefits! Not only is a Muay Thai class a fun, full-body workout, you will also leave with quality, realistic, self-defense techniques. Training Muay Thai is great for increasing your cardiovascular conditioning, overall fitness, weight loss, anxiety and stress relief, as well as, building confidence in your capabilities all around.
What to Expect in a Typical Muay Thai Class
Our classes start with a group warm up, varying between jump rope, foot work drills, and shadow boxing. We then move forward with instructed partner drills on pads, or with gloves and shin guards. If you do not have gloves to start, we have some you can borrow while trying out class! The class ends with the option to continue to sharpen your technique, with bag work, and sparring, if you choose.
