This facility is very clean I checked out the bathroom because I have OCD. I spoke with Marisa the first time that I came and she contacted me back at a later date when I told her that I would be interested to start. Thumbs up because I didn’t have to call them. She answered all my questions directly and honestly. I look forward to my children becoming a regular fixture around the place

I specifically wanted to train Marcelo Garcia Jiu Jitsu and that’s exactly what you’ll get here, in both Gi and No Gi. Along with Boxing, Muay Thai, and a women’s boot camp, your younger children can come to train and learn a skill that will not only offer them a safe, fun environment, but serve them the rest of their lives. This facility is large, clean and packed full of competitive champions. Not only do they get out there and do it, but they get out there and keep doing it. No one is made to feel uncomfortable at any age or skill level. They have female instructors as well as males and the women teach the younger kids. My daughter went for her trial day and she loved it. They make the kids classes fun. I’ve been coming close to six months now and I haven’t met one person that wasn’t kind or helpful. I really look forward to training here a long time, making new friends with nice people and entering Jiu Jitsu competitions. The trial class is free with no commitment. Come give it a try, it will change and improve your life for the better.

I love Ultimate MMA. They have a great, attentive staff. Very welcoming environment. Whether you’re a newbie or have experience- you’ll fit in. My family and I have been coming here for roughly 2 1/2 years. The children’s Jiu-jitsu and introduction to Muay Thai are great- my kids have a blast and they learn a lot. The adult Muay Thai class is fun and a great workout- for men and women. The Women’s Boot camp run by the one and only, Marisa, is a great class for all levels of fitness and all age ranges. Marisa allows you to go at your own pace and you still benefit from a great workout. If you schedule a one-on-one private, you won’t be disappointed. One-on-one private classes allow your instructor to really nail down your moves and improve faster. Andrew is awesome, too! – I don’t train with him, but we have a blast. Ultimate MMA makes you feel like family.

My son is 9, he is not athletic and not into sports, but I want him to learn any kind of martial arts so he can gain confidence & some weight. He tried karate, Taekwondo, & Kung-fu. None of them caught his attention more than 1-2 months, now he has been practicing under coach Marisa for almost 6 months & he loves it. What I like the most about Ultimate MMA, is that all the higher belt kids are nice & supporting to my son. An A+ environment for your young kid. Don’t let the cage you see at the entrance scare you, your kids will love it here, he/she will make lots of friends and learn something both practical & healthy. Best Mixed Martial Arts gym in New Haven County. My son loved it here before we moved out of Hamden. I cannot recommend it enough.
